Douglas (Doug) Kelley
Vice PResident of Redevelopment
Douglas F. Kelley is the Vice President of Development for Snell. Doug supervises new development activities, renovation projects, and participates in asset management. Doug has extensive experience in development, redevelopment, asset management, and property management. Doug reports to the President and works with the Senior Vice President and oversees Project Managers. His primary responsibilities include: the repositioning of Shirlington House, Potomac Towers and Dominion Plaza and taking the lead on re-entitling the Arlington and Ames office sites.
Prior to working for Snell, Doug held positions with AvalonBay Communities, Inc. as a Director of Redevelopment and Asset Management and Home Properties as a Development Associate. While at AvalonBay Doug’s direct responsibilities included the planning, investment approval, and oversight of redevelopment projects ranging from $5 million to $20 million, formulating the annual redevelopment business plan for the region, asset management of newly acquired communities and those under redevelopment, and annual capital expenditure assessment within the region. Doug’s projects included the first applications of each of the company’s newly developed brands on the East Coast. During Doug’s tenure at Home Properties, Doug’s involvement included entitlements, underwriting, and project management of development projects. Doug has been involved in the development, redevelopment, and acquisition of over 8,000 apartments.
Doug received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lycoming College and a Master’s degree in Real Estate Development from The Johns Hopkins University School of Business.
